You can't do business from @gmail.com: why you need business email

25 July 2026·5 min read

You receive a quote from a company; the sender's address is citytransport1980@gmail.com. A voice inside you says "hmm…" Had the same quote come from info@companyname.com, the question would never have arisen. Business email looks like a small detail, but it is the first building block of trust.

What does a personal email address cost you?

What does business email mean?

It means email that runs on your own domain name, such as info@yourcompany.com or first.last@yourcompany.com. The most common solution is Google Workspace; you use the familiar Gmail interface with your own domain, plus business administration and security features. (Microsoft 365 is a similar alternative.)

What do you gain?

Your email address is the first contact most customers have with your brand. If that contact feels amateur, it is hard to make up for it afterwards.

The invisible but critical issue: deliverability

The most neglected side of business email is making sure the messages you send land in the recipient's inbox, not the spam folder. For that, the right DNS records (SPF, DKIM, DMARC) have to be set up on your domain. If those records are missing, even a quote sent from the most professional address can end up in spam and go unnoticed. This is the technical, yet equally important, side of the setup.

We set up business email (Google Workspace) and domain DNS settings (including SPF/DKIM/DMARC) for companies — so you look professional and your emails reach their destination.
